Services

Change Narrative offers customized services for individuals, organizations, governments, companies, and community groups based on the unique audience and goals. Whether to engage the public to act on climate change or move legislators through testimony, each project is thoughtfully crafted and facilitated to move hearts and minds through the power of personal narrative and other value-based ways that resonate.

1. Climate Storytelling

Change Narrative specializes in the niche skill of story coaching, supporting everyday people to realize impactful and original personal stories of climate change, boosting confidence and agency as leaders and advocates. One-on-one coaching sessions offer personalized guidance, content expertise and editing, to result in a fully finished narrative, while facilitated group writing workshops support the development of a solid story draft with built-in opportunities to practice sharing with others. Storytellers are equipped to share climate narratives at live events, story slams, and legislative hearings, in print media, radio, podcast, social media, fundraising, and can serve as the basis for artwork.

Healing Circles are part of a year-long climate action-driven project, Society of Mother Earth (S.O.M.E.). Developed with funding as an awardee of the Minnesota Humanities Center 2022-2023 Cultural Heritage and Community Identity Grant

2. healing Circles

Rooted in Indigenous thought and held as small group workshops. Healing Circles provide a vessel for participants to name, hold, and release intense emotions around climate change while contextualizing how we ended up here. Through cycles of music and poetry, participants engage in an outdoor, moving journey that engages the senses and prompts a path to our individual and collective healing, unlocking the potential to shift the stories we tell and reimagine the future we are building. Healing Circles are supported by partners Oyate Hotanin, in collaboration with musical duo Buffalo Weavers and Change Narrative.

3. Anthology Books

Publish a climate story anthology that highlights the experiences of climate change from a diversity of voices that are rooted in your community. Anthology books creatively engage the public and build awareness of the depth and breadth of climate change through first hand accounts and testimonies. Change Narrative manages the entire anthology book making process, from cultivating stories that represent a range of solutions, and impacts, collecting submissions, curation, creative design, and editing. Anthology books are literary activism and serve as a resource to mobilize action on climate. See a review of recent work here.

4. Workshops

Change Narrative offers customized storytelling workshops, including this 2-part series in collaboration with Eco-Anxious Stories. Eco-Anxious Stories: Changing the Narrative for Climate Confidence is an interactive experience designed to help cope with the overwhelm many of us feel about our changing world. Participants learn about eco-anxiety and write personal climate stories to steady themselves, build climate confidence, and find a community of support.
